An all rookie field highlighted The Open at the Hawk's Nest. Only
three players had ever even thrown Monkeyballs (Tony, Maggie & Harold
Olds), and the other seven players saw the game for the first time
only 15 minutes prior to the tournament.
Tony Olds started off by skunking his archrival at everything during
their childhood, his older brother Matt Olds (how'd you like that,
Matt!). Maggie Olds impressed the fans with her third place
finish, but the real talent came out of Grand Rapids where a father-son
duel headlined the championship match.
Rob Harley, who outplayed the competition all day, found himself in
the final against son Nick. Unfortunately for Rob, though, the
105-degree heat index didn't sit well with his decision to wear pants. In
the end, Nick Harley came out of the losers bracket to top his dad
in the Open championship, 16-14, 16-14.
