MEMORIAL WEEKEND INVITATIONAL

What started off as a surprise 30th Birthday Party for Tony Olds,
turned into an intense Monkeyball tournament. What a great way
to spend a Memorial Weekend - friends, beverages, and monkeyballs! The
tournament consisted of avid monkeyballers (Tony and Maggie Olds, Harold
Olds, and Liz and Josh Grant) and many first time ballers.
Tony and Maggie Olds were picked as favorites to win this tournament
being played on home turf. However, rookie baller Trent
Maier had something to say about that. Harold Olds and Terry
Maier, despite being knocked out the the tournament by their first
two matches, gave a boost to the gallery watching from above (on
Tony's new deck). Match of the day came from a family feud in
the losers bracket as Todd beat his wife 15-13 and may still be sleeping
on the couch at home. The #13 world ranked Maggie Olds played
well as expected, but it was her brother that found himself in the
finals against Josh Grant. Trent went on to win and finish the
tournament undefeated.
Watch out for several players from the Memorial Weekend Invitational
who plan on going deep into the brackets at the World Championships
in August!
