DELTA-WAVERLY RELAY FOR LIFE

For the first time in history, a (non-quite-sanctioned) Monkeyball Tournament made an appearance at a Relay For Life! Not only that, it started at 2:00 AM! The Delta-Waverly Relay For Life, June 8-9th at Waverly High School (Lansing, Mich.) was the site for the tourney.  

There were 23 players, 20 of who were brand new to the sport. The tournament was played as a one-game elimination, with competitors only playing up to 5. It actually started with competitors playing up to 10, but after the first 2 players took, well, a lot of time (see first two pictures), everyone agreed to play to 5 instead. Two more rounds were played to narrow down the finalists to the top 3 (which apparently happens when you have an odd number of participants).

The final three contestants were two of Willie's Walkers players, Diane and Jason, plus a representative from Charlie's Angels' Team - Chad. Jason came out on top, followed by Diane, then Chad.   The event drew quite a crowd and a lot of intense players - some that might just show up at the Worlds to give some of our seasoned players a run for their money!
