BATTLE AT ASHBROOK LAWN

The Battle At Ashbrook Lawn was hosted by Don and Nancy Denyes at
their home in Holt, Mich. It was in celebration of their daughter Katie's
20th birthday and their Monkeyballer-in-training grandson Noah's announcement
that he will be a big brother sometime in March '08.
The Battle consisted of two Monkeyball veterans and six rookies. Andy
and Kari Dressler were the odds on favorites coming into the tournament
and they didn't let Vegas down. Finishing first and second respectively,
the rest of the field could not crack the Dressler's armor. While Noah
napped, his parents methodically disposed of the competition with relative
ease. Nancy Denyes was perhaps the greatest threat to both Dresslers
taking Andy to 15-10 in the first round, and Kari to 16-14 in the loser's
bracket. Nancy most definitely has serious Monkeyball potential. Rookie
Jeremy Foco attempted to bring his game of smack talk but it only left
him with 4 points for the day. We'll see what improvements he's made
at the Monkeyball Worlds.
