HOWELL INVITATIONAL MONKEYBALL TOURNAMENT

October 21, 2007
A warm and very windy Sunday October 21 st drew 10 contestants to
the Morrow household in Howell for the latest sanctioned Monkeyball
Tournament. The field was made up of 6 veterans with World Championship
experience - hosts Brent and Jennifer Morrow, Kevin and Sheri Gunns,
and Scott and Jamie Clark, along with 4 new competitors - Erik and
Nichole Martinson, and the soon to be married Matt Andrus and Shelly
McVay ready to make their mark.
The entire afternoon was highlighted with 3 different "Who is going
to sleep on the couch" couples match-ups! Congratulations to
rookies Nichole Martinson (4th Place) and Matt Andrus (3rd Place)
for placing strong in their first tournament experience. The
finals match, however, pitted longtime Monkeyball veterans Kevin Gunns
and Brent Morrow against each other. The crowd was a noticeably
quieter with Kevin playing in the match instead of cheering! In
the end Brent Morrow pulled out another non-Worlds victory and finished
the tournament undefeated.
