MEADOW WOODS WORLDS WARMUP
Pennine Ridge Field -- Grand Ledge, MI

You never know what Mother Nature is going to bring when the ladders
are set up and the balls start flying on Pennine Ridge Field. The last
event played here (The New Years
Invitational) brought inches of snow
and freezing conditions. This time around the wind was the main factor
in this warmup to the World Championships.
With all participants registered to play in the World Championships,
this event was designed to get all ballers some much needed practice.
The field included two rookies (Dave and Tracy Sylvia) and Top 30 ranked
players (Tony and Maggie Olds). MB veterans Todd and Dawn Byers were
sadly missed because they were out of town. Maggie and
Tony Olds met in the first round and Maggie ended up on top 15-7. However,
later in the Loser's bracket they met again and this time Tony won
15-7. Dave Sylvia put an end to Tony's comeback in the next round winning
15-10. That paired Dave and Chuck Giller in the finals with Chuck winning
his first MB event 15-10.
