Mormons Suck Invitational (j/k, we love Mormons)

It's been over 48 hours and many PBRs since the tournament ended and I don't recall all the details of the Mormons Suck Invitational. Here, however, are some notes I do remember:

• First, we really don't think Mormons suck. This tournament was held just down the street from the Big House just prior to Michigan's game against Utah, so we decided to hate on Mormons for a few hours. We're all good with Utah folks now. (I wonder what we'll call the tournament when Notre Dame comes to town?)
• Dan Kidle can't seem to get over the Commish hump, losing to Andy Frushour a number of times in 2008. This time Kidle dropped a 12-Monkeys and beat Frushour in the semifinals, and they faced each other again in the championship. Kidle was one toss away from the title, but went long and ultimately lost 16-14, 15-9. Beer made him feel better, the Michigan loss didn't.
• Dan Hanak just may be the 712 Arch roommate to someday knock off Kidle in an Ann Arbor event. Hanak made it to the finals of the winner's bracket before finishing third.
• Dan Renner made the trip from the East Lansing Fire Dept and lived up to his top 15 world ranking, finishing fourth.
• Jason Riback rocked the traddy and knocked off former world #1, Casey Frushour.
• Matt Young will win someday. Hicks My Boy, stick to beer pong.
• Kyle Kilcherman will be a force to be reckoned with in future Monkeyball events – perhaps even the top rookie if Kilch registers for the 2009 World Championships.
• D-ham rallied, but was dealt a tough draw. He went two and out.

Long story short: lots of beer, we actually like Mormons, Rich Rod = 0-1, Kidle almost had it, #2 Frushour wins again.
