The Old Orchard

The Old Orchard is located at 3426 N Michigan Rd in Dimondale. It is 4 miles south of I-96 (exit 101 - MLK/M-99). Look for the World's Largest Monkeyball ladder and other signage on the east side of Michigan Rd (M-99).   If you go past the entrance, there are a number of turnarounds in the median.

Registration - $10 (includes beer and water). You can also order the official tournament t-shirt (white shirt with crimson/navy logo above) for $10. All orders must be placed by July 1. Extra shirts may be available on the day of the tournament for $15.

Other than check in/meeting times, all times are approximate:
8:30-9:30 - Registration
8:30 - Courts open for warmup/practice
9:45 - Players Meeting (all players must attend)
10:00 - Morning Qualifying Begins (for all players)
12:30 - Championship Session (based on morning)
3:30 - Championship Match

The format is being slightly altered for 2009 to add more players to the afternoon session. Players will be divided into five groups for double-elimination morning qualifying. The first group features the Top 16 players according to the World Rankings. All other players will be evenly dispersed into the other four groups. Each morning match is one game, with 44 players advancing to the afternoon's single-elimination Championshp session. All matches in the afternoon are best two-out-of-three.

This is a sanctioned tournament. All players will receive World Rankings points. The Official Rules of Monkeyball will govern play (for a quick tutorial, read the basic rules).

Pizzas will be delivered at noon. If you want pizza, you can just throw a couple bucks in the hat and have at it. This is a great option if you don't want to pack a lunch that morning, and it also allows you to stay at the Old Orchard all day.
