It was a beautiful day at the Rifle River Recreation Area in Lupton, Mich.  A great day for Monkeyball.  We started by doing some doubles warm up games.  Once everyone got warmed up we got right into our Monkeyball tournament.

We started out with are most recent champion from the Clifford Slingers Tournament, Jennifer Adamczyk, going against Dillon Johnson.  It was a great game came and very close with a score of 15-13, Jennifer taking the win.  She would go on to face Billy “The Hero”  in a even closer overtime match that she ended up losing by a score of 16-14, giving The Hero his first official Monkeyball win.

We had three generations of Johnson's battling it out to be crowned Monkeyball champion of the Rec Area Beach Bash.  First it was Richard (Dick) Johnson taking on son Shawn in the winners bracket final.  Shawn paid no attention to all the trash talk and focused in to take the win, 15-9. 

Dillon lost his first match of the day and had to work his way through the losers bracket to take no other than Grandpa Dick in the losers bracket final.  It was probably the best game of the day.  They were canceling each other left and right a bunch of trash talking going on but most importantly a great game which ended up Dillon winning a very close game with a score of 16-14.   In the championship, Shawn beat Dillon 15-5 to win his first-ever MB title.
