The newly formed Coconut League (the brain child of Eric Trinoskey and Mark Colliton) held it's first annual Copper Cup tournament in St. Petersburg, Florida. This tournament, played on copper ladders, featured a field of six rookies, highlighted by Monkeyball Jesus in his first non-Worlds match.
A beautiful Sunday was not marred by intermittant showers reminiscent of MB5. This rookie field didn't show the fortitude of the World's ballers and took several rain breaks. Rookie Paul Demiduk took to the game like a duck to water, beating veteran Aimee Trinoskey 15-4 in his first match of the day. Another rookie, Steve Allbritton, started slow, but found his game in the loser's bracket before finally being knocked off by Aimee Trinoskey 15-13 on the way to the semi-finals.
Monkeyball Jesus, aka Eric Trinoskey, and host Jon Stine, who made an appearance at MB2, dominated, with the host ultimately beating MBJ in the final 15-3.
