BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - July 19, 2008 - Members of the Southern Monkeyball Conference held their final tune-up tournament prior to making the trip north for MB4. Bill Mills became the fifth SoMoCo member to take home a title, winning the Broken Bow Invitational. American Revolution Meets Civil War; Dameron Wins on July 4th at Bull Run

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - July 4, 2008 - Before we get on to important Monkeyball talk, I know people will ask/wonder about the history lesson headline...my public service: go here, here and here. (Sorry, it's late and it's the only headline that came to my head.).

Now, to the business at hand...Monkeyball is blowin' up in Alabama as the state has now hosted four tournaments in the last year. This time, it was Sean Dameron's turn to take the gold, winning The Battle At Bull Run -- An Independence Day Showdown. Dameron, and more than a dozen other Alabamans representing the Southern Monkeyball Conference, will be making the trek to Michigan for the World Championships on August 2. Perhaps we have another Civil War in the making?

Storm Rips Through Lansing; 2005 Worlds Host Site Escapes With Minor Damage

LANSING, Mich. - June 8, 2008 - A wicked storm passd over the heart of Lansing Saturday night, uprooting tress and spewing large branches around the Rockford & Strathmore neighborhood. Rockford & Strathmore is well known in Monkeyball circles as the host of the first ever Monkeyball World Championships in 2005. No injuries, and only minor housing damages, were reported.

The pictures below show the hallowed MB site at the first Worlds event on Sept. 24, 2005, and the grounds this morning after the storm.

Only Two Short Months Until MB4; Sign Up NOW For One of the Remaining 40 Spots

LANSING, Mich. - June 2, 2008 - With just two months left until the start of the biggest Monkeyball event of the year (Aug. 2), the 2008 World Monkeyball Championships is certain to set a world record for the largest ladder golf event ever recorded. Right now we have 88 players signed up for MB4, which is already more than last year's total of 81. In fact, we may even reach our maximum of 128 total participants. ONLY 40 SPOTS REMAIN -- send me an e-mail today to sign up for one of the last remaining openings. Don't miss out on the opportunity to play in this record-setting event.

(At right, one of our seven Alabaman participants sent me this great note with his entry fee. It's very funny, but I think someone needs to tell him that there's zero chance of him checking item #3.)
